These are the biggest problems the world is facing in my opinion:
1.) Climate Change
2.) Overpopulation
3.) Water Crisis
4.) Terrorism
5.) Poverty
These are the solutions to each of the problems ranked from most possible to implement to least possible to implement:
1.) The solution to the water crisis: just by educating people of the importance of conserving water can help this issue. Taking shorter showers and reusing water for irrigation are easy ways to save water, and if each person does so, this will be a much smaller problem.
2.) The solution to climate change: The world is already transitioning to being more eco-friendly and aware of the devastating impacts that human activities have on the environment; more people need to be educated on the matter and global warming needs to be taken more seriously by everyone in order to help mitigate the impacts of this issue.
3.) The solution to overpopulation: Educating and empowering women is a big solution to this problem that is already happening. However, the population is already so big that it will take drastic measures to control it further.
4.) The solution to poverty: Policy changes are needed in order to help this problem. Solutions include creating more jobs, and providing free education, but it could take a very long time before this happens.
5.) The solution to terrrorism: Electing leaders who will implement strategies to protect the country and who will do whatever it takes to stop terrrorism from happening. This could take a very long time.
I believe that climate change is the world's biggest problem because without a healthy livable world, all of the other problems will cease to exist. We need to protect and care for our world, and it is crucial that we start being more sustainable now before it's too late. What I believe will happen is that in the far future, there is going to be a realization of just how detrimental human activities are to the planet, and then leaders will start to implement bills and laws to try to reverse it- but it won't be enough. This is always going to be a problem the world will face whether we do something about it or not, that's what is scary. Humans have already polluted the atmosphere and exploited natural resources, so the steps we take now are crucial to being able to sustain life on this planet.

Hi Jennie, thank you for sharing your Top 5 World Problems. I am not sure if you have had the same experience, but I just want to point out that every single post that I have read regarding this subject always mentions global warming or climate change. It is definitely a problem that it is not only noticeable for the warm summer that we are having, but also by other occurrences around the world. For example, in my country (Colombia), there are sectors that are having unusual long droughts that are drying up bodies of water and causing forest fires. In regards to your solutions, I pretty much back each of them but the solution for terrorism. Even though it is a very pressing issue, doing "whatever it takes" to stop terrorism can mean the escalation of many activities that many of us do not like, such as government monitoring of our phone and online conversations.
